CREATING BETTER FUTURES AWARD
Craven Volunteer Centre was proud to be shortlisted for a
Yorkshire Forward “Creating Better Futures Award”
in May this year. This was for their work in partnership with
Ermysted’s Grammar School – the Volunteer Centre
organises the sixth formers’ volunteering programme.
In September 47 boys will be spending Wednesday afternoons
volunteering in their local community.
Unfortunately, we didn’t win this year, but Headmaster
of Ermysted’s, Mr Hamilton, his wife and the staff
from the Volunteer Centre had a lovely dinner at Leeds Town
Hall and enjoyed an interesting talk from Matthew Pinsent,
Olympic Gold Medal winner.

The Annual Outing September 2009
On Tuesday 15th September a party of volunteers
and guests were treated to a trip to Lotherton Hall Deer
Park and Bird Garden in Aberford, East of Leeds. Everybody
had a good time. Pictures below...

AGM
Craven Volunteer Centre held its AGM on Monday 28th
September 2009 at the Soroptimist Rooms, Otley
Street, Skipton at 12 noon. The current management committee
